About Me

Sarah Conyers

Hi there and welcome to Safeandsolo.com!

Just a few years ago my husband suddenly passed away and I (like so many other women) was left to live alone. We never had children and I don’t live near my family (nor his family either). I found myself having to make the decision of moving to an area that I did not enjoy (South Florida is just too hot for me) and (New Jersey is just too cold!) or should I continue living where I do?

It was difficult but after a year or so I decided to stay put – which meant that I needed to rely on friends for any help when it was needed.

But, generally speaking, I’m by myself the great majority of the time.

Needless to say, those first few months and couple of years were very traumatic and difficult and yes, scary! Every little thump in the night woke me, every stranger to the door scared me and life just became so very difficult.

When I started searching for information on how to make my home and my life safer I found bits and pieces here and there but not in any one website or place. So, I decided to write down what I am learning and share it with you!

So, join me on this adventure of learning how to stay safe in this crazy, crazy world we’re all living in!

As a single mom, I’ve spent years learning how to live alone safely. My children are now leaving the nest and I want them to be safe out there in that big, sometimes scary world, too.

That’s why I’m passionate about researching and writing articles to help readers think of things they might not consider and learn skills to avoid becoming a victim.
