When researching a good home security camera system for outside my home, I came across the Arlo Go Mobile HD Camera.
An Arlo Go security camera is good for someone who has either limited WiFi access or none at all. The camera uses LTE technology (currently, 3G or 4G), The camera does not need electricity, so you can place it anywhere. You will need a mobile data plan in order to use the Arlo Go camera.

How Does The Arlo Go Camera Work?

It is wire free and does not require a power connection. That means you aren’t confined to putting it up only where you can get electricity or find a plug.
This also means that the camera will continue keeping watch despite power outages or interruption of your internet signal.
Does Arlo Camera Require Subscription?
The standard Arlo cameras do not need a subscription, however the Arlo Go DOES require a data plan. This is because it must have cellular connectivity to operate.
So, yes, in that sense, you’ll need to get a subscription in order to use the Arlo Go version.
How Much Does Arlo Go Cost Per Month?
Once you pay for the camera itself, you will need a data plan because the cameras operates via cellular service (in other words, on a data plan not your home wifi).
The cost of the Arlo Go per month will be based on whatever amount of extra data you purchase from your provider.
If you don’t want to use your provider’s data or your provider’s service isn’t compatible with the camera, you can get data through Arlo Mobile.
Currently (early 2024) there are three Arlo Mobile plans, ranging in coverage amounts. These plans cost anywhere from $3.99 to $26.39 per month. There is no activation fee.
